Perm State Medical University was established on October 14, 1916 in Russia. It is considered to be one of the ancient & best Medical Universities in Russia for acquiring medical education. Initially, it was introduced as medical faculty, then later on in 1917; it became an independent department of the medical faculty. The University has a huge chain of history. About 350 future doctors were admitted to the faculty during the first year that made 70% of all students.
There are more than 500 employees working in PSMU, who are well-qualified scientists, professors and lecturers. University is considered to be the best destination for pursuing PG in Russia (Post-graduation in Medicine). University has more than 160 foreign students from 21 different Nations, studying Medicine in PSMU.
Also, the University has maintained cordial relations with many institutions, hospitals, Universities across the globe.

Housing Facilities
- University takes the full responsibility of accommodating its students in University’s owned housing blocks
- There are nine comfortable hostels at the disposal of students. They are newly furnished and equipped with internet. Their infrastructure is being improved.
- Foreign students are provided with a living place in double or three-man rooms at students’ campus with access control in the centre of the city.
Training Facilities / Hospitals
- University provides training to all its students enrolled for Post-graduation in its 72 departments via 147 Doctors of Science (every third lecturer) and 360 candidates of science.
- Training of residents is carried out in 50 specialties on the bases of 43 departments. Two forms of training are offered-
- Day training (treatment, pediatric, Stomatological, secondary professional education faculties)
- Distant training (higher nurse education)
- There are 8 academic buildings with modern lecture halls
- Perm State Medical University has clinical bases at multi-profile treatment institutions of Perm and Perm Krai, Clinic diagnostic Center with Polyclinics and Dental Clinic, Central Research Laboratory, Fundamental Scientific with electronic reading hall and library
- Training bases for residents are treatment institutions of the city with clinical chairs of the University disposed there.
- Practical skill of students is perfected on mannequins, phantoms, at laboratories with modern devices and medical equipment, treatment-and-prophylactic institutions of Perm and Perm Krai.
- Students partake in various contests, competitions, quizzes in medical speciality. These exercises are performed for the students’ revision purpose.
Campus Life
- Students enrolled for Post-graduation in PSMU, lead a quite amazing & learning experience of campus life.
- Foreign students make use of the University Multimedia library, 12 computer halls and sports halls on a part with Russian students.
- For students, 5 building of training are available, which are furnished with modern infrastructure; lecture halls are equipped with multimedia complexes.
- Students are provided with certain conditions for creative realization and physical development. As a result of this, students achieve amazingly in the contest “students’ spring” of the local, regional and All-Russian levels, as well as victories in sports events.
